April/ Lanikai Triathlon: Island athletes gear up for the annual Lanikai race at Kailua Beach Park. Push yourself and conquer a 500-meter swim, a 20K bike ride and a 5K run. Awards are given in multiple categories, including age and relay teams.

Join us at the Annual “I Love Kailua” Town Party and find out what’s to love about Kailua at the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle (LKOC) annual fundraiser. Enjoy live entertainment, a plant sale and art in the park. There are Keiki rides and activities all day.

May/  Lanikai Spring Craft Fair: Don’t miss some of Hawaii’s most talented crafts-people presenting their original handcrafted goods at this biannual fundraising event which takes place in Lanikai Community Park. You’ll find one-of-a-kind products and works of art created for this highly anticipated craft fair.

July/ Independence Day Parade: The only Fourth of July Parade on Oahu is presented by the Kailua Chamber of Commerce, this parade may have a small town feel, but it attracts big crowds. The parade starts at Kainalu Drive and ends at the Kailua District Park. Later, enjoy Fireworks in the evening, after sunset.

November/ Light Up Kailua: Around the holidays, the Kailua Chamber of Commerce decorates the trees in the Kailua Banyan Tree Park. Members and residents light up the trees and the medial strips along Kailua Road in the central business district after Thanksgiving.

  • The Kailua People’s Open Market:  At the Kailua District Park open air market, you’re sure to find a wide variety of produce and other goods often less expensive than in grocery stores.
  • Kailua Thursday Night Farmers’ Market: Join us at the Kailua Town Center Parking Garage to support local farmers at this weekly event. You can get all your fruits, vegetables, flowers, fresh baked breads, tropical jams, unique snack foods and more.
  • Art Walk: Every second Sunday of the month, some of Kailua’s art galleries and the Kalapawai Cafe (the 750 Kailua Road location) open their doors to showcase local artwork. and a wine tasting in the late afternoon.
